This sermon was delivered on July 7, 2013 at South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society during our summer of our seven principles. This was the first in a series of worship services centered around the seven principles of Unitarian Universalism. Our first principle is really one of the foundations of our faith; it designates that every person is sacred, that their experience of life and creation is worthy, and that they deserve to be treated with dignity and care. The principles sounds easy and simple, yet, in reality, it is very hard to practice as a way to spiritual living, because when we get hurt by others, when people do not live up to their best, how do we sustain their worth and dignity in our practice? The video of the sermon is available on YouTube, and the PDF is available for download. As with all my sermons, its released under the Creative Commons License, free for non-profit use, but please, contact me if you plan to use my work to make money.
